EQAsce cooperates intensively with partners from Germany as well as with international experts and organizations to improve animal welfare in general. We are the point of contact for interested parties from economy and science who are searching for partners in their joint projects. For example, EQAsce has offered online seminars as information about alternatives to anesthetic-free piglet castration under the authority of the Bundesverband Rind & Schwein. The next online seminars regarding this topic will take place from September 8th onwards, after a short summer break. There will be seven dates. The online seminar will be updated and be put to latest stage of developments to enable pig farmers to get all necessary information concerning the changes in law being enforced from 1st of January 2021 and to keep to the new regulations.
Furthermore, EQAsce has developed its EiP-project “GeTie” (joint effort for animal welfare) further on. Within the sphere of jointly carried out online seminars, there has been an exchange of ideas between the EiP-project “GeTie” and two other EiP-projects from Baden-Wuerttemberg. Especially the areas of agriculture and animal welfare it is especially important to not only network on a national level but as well on international level. Further support has come from experts from EU-neighboring countries. Because the changes in law come into force in January 1st, 2021, there is time pressure and it is important to make efficient use of the time left until the change of the year. Many actors from science and practice work for practical solutions for animal keeping companies in different projects. For over three years, EQAsce in Bonn bundles up findings and experience from pilot-, model and demonstration projects regarding animal welfare and health. We seek to develop concepts and material for study-integrated and extra-occupational training and to put it to a test jointly with consulting and education providers.
With the start of the corona-pandemic, the cooperative association of EQAsce, GenoAkademie, and TiGA e.G. has created technical-organizational conditions to quickly transfer latest findings in research into agricultural practice by online seminars, online forums, learning platforms and a video platform.
